Something he does well is to include girl main characters so his books aren't exclusively for boys. Instead of just being about the action of the game, he threads other story lines that make the story well-rounded and dimensional. His book, Fantasy League, was on the short list for 6th Grade Book of the Year last year. Sports fans should check these out!
