This is another retelling of a folktale set in rural Russia with her classic artistic style of telling a story-within-a-story with richly detailed pictures. Every child should have the chance to read a Jan Brett story and there are many on the RU list. A definite for girls who like fantasy and wonder what it would be like to have command of some very unusual minions! 2015-2016 Sixth Grade RU Reader’s Choice Challenge This year 6th grade students will have the opportunity to participate in choosing an APA Readers’ Choice Award. The books will be introduced and the students, who choose to participate, will have a set time to read the books. At the end of the reading period, students who have read more than two books from the list will be invited to a lunchtime pizza party and will be able to campaign for their favorite. Any student who participates will vote and a winner will be declared! The reading period will vary by campus and more details will follow but reading may start now!
