Allie, a 5th grader, finds school hard enough without having to be the principal's daughter. She finds friends with the children of other school employees who stay after school and form the "Afters" club. While she enjoys these friends, she secretly wants to belong and make other friends; however, others are wary of her because of her relation to the principal and her reputation of being a "tattler." A great story that explores choices, being who you are despite the opinions of others and family relationships.
